Tournament Planet App – Bowling Teams Tournament Management

We started our Tournament Planet Tournament Feature Series with Singles Tournaments. We’ll continue the series by explaining Bowling Teams Tournament Managementthe bowling Teams Tournament Management feature. Team tournaments are so easy to manage with three basic steps: Create, add teams, then add scores. And that’s it. After creating a team tournament it will immediately be visible to your players. As you add and save scores those too will immediately be available for players to view. No more pesky print outs. No more leaving the lane and the action to find a print out. Watch the action unfold in real time with the Tournament Planet app.

This is a feature for Business Accounts, not the free Player Accounts. So, if you don’t have a Business Account you can start by getting a license at tournamentplanet.io. You’ll need to have the app on your device which you can get at the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. If you don’t want to use a device and would rather use your computer you can access all of the same functionality right from your browser. Just go to tournamentplanetapp.com and login. Everything stays the same except you’ll have access to a full sized keyboard and mouse.

Creating A Team Tournament

If you’ve ever created a tournament, league, bracket, or raffle in Tournament Planet then you know just how easy this is. All you do is click the “Create Tournament” button, fill in the details for the tournament, mark it as “Teams Only”, and then click “Save”. Voila, you have yourself a team tournament visible by anyone with the app. As usual we’ve included the full steps below:

  1. Open the Tournament Planet app on your device
  2. Login to your business account
  3. Select the “My Tournaments” Option from the top tab navigator
  4. Choose the desired tournament from the list
  5. Press the “Create Tournament” button on the top
  6. Fill out the form with the Tournament Details
  7. Be sure to change the “Tournament Type” picker to “Team Tournament”
  8. Click the “Save” button at the bottom

Adding Teams To A Team Tournament

With the tournament created you’ll next need to add teams. Open the team tournament, and then press the “Add Teams” button. Fill out the information for the team, then press “Save”. You can continue to add as many teams as you need. When you’re done adding teams you can start the tournament by pressing the “Start Tournament” button. Full steps below:

  1. Open the Tournament Planet app on your device
  2. Login to your business account
  3. Select the “My Tournaments” Option from the top tab navigator
  4. Choose the desired tournament from the list
  5. Select the correct “1 – Add Team” button
    1. Fill out the information in the form
    2. Press the “Save” Button
  6. Repeat for all the teams you want to create
  7. Start the tournament by clicking the “2 – Start Tournament” button

Adding Scores To A Team Tournament

With the tournament started and bowlers bowling you’re going to start getting scores. Depending on your time availability during the tournament and your personal preference you can decide to upload scores after each game, or all at once at the end. As you save scores they will be visible to the players with the app. So how do you do it? It’s easy, open the tournament, press the “Upload Scores” button, enter the scores, and click “Save”. When you’ve entered all the scores you can click the “End Tournament” button. If you’re not logged in or want to see the full steps we have you covered.

  1. Open the Tournament Planet app on your device
  2. Login to your business account
  3. Select the “My Tournaments” Option from the top tab navigator
  4. Choose the desired tournament from the list
  5. Select the “Update All Scores” button
  6. Find the section for the team you would like to update
  7. Update the needed player’s scores
  8. Press the “Save” button
  9. When all scores have been saved and the tournament is done click the “End Tournament” button

Final Thoughts On Bowling Teams Tournament Management

Creating and managing team tournaments is simple. It saves you time of not having to carry around bulky printers and laptops. And players get the instant feedback of all their competitor’s scores. There is no more need for countless print outs, reams of wasted paper, and walking across the alley to post or view results. After everything related to the COVID pandemic this also gives you and your players an extra layer of safety that other bowling management software doesn’t provide.
